I NEVER had any problems receiving fan mail but for extra safety, remember that there are many ways to secure envelopes and packages... with tracking numbers for snail mail or with secure mail services like ups and fedex, for example. If you are afraid to send cash by mail, I can assure you, by experience (I received hundreds of cash tributes over the past few years) - that it's pretty safe, I would say 99,9% safe!
